Vintage Blue Green Silk Shibori Dyed Kimono Jacket - I4549
Vintage kimono jacket hand-stitched by kimono makers in Japan May have been previously worn but exterior and interior are in very good condition.
Silk jacket with intricately dyed patterns in white created by tying off sections of fabric before dipping in the dye bath. The background is a pretty blue green color. There is a tiny mark on the back left panel about 5" up from the hem and close to the side seam. The area on the back left sleeve opening may have a tiny bit of patina (photo 6).
The pink and off white silk lining has a cloud and bamboo pattern. There is a tiny, tiny mark on the lining, about a 1/16" cross mark.
Features the traditional hanging sleeve of a kimono. Measures 51" from sleeve tip to tip. Length is 29" from back of neck and 31" including collar. Chest area is 48". Haori jackets do not wrap, are worn open. Hip area across the back is 25". Close to fitting a size 10-12-14.
