Vintage kimono jacket hand-stitched by kimono makers in Japan In very good condition with just a faint white streak across the upper back left panel. It does not even show in the 3rd photo, which
is of the back side.
Wonderful, sheer silk haori for a whisper light cover featuring cut work in floral shapes shapes on the lower left front and across the lower back panel
Cut work is the method of tying threads together outside of the normal weave patterns to form decorative areas in the fabric.
The jacket is lightweight and would be a good topper for a warm night or when a little cover-up is needed without bulk.
The black silk has a faint black on black horizontal stripe in the weave, known as a ventilated weave for airiness.
Features the traditional hanging sleeve of a kimono. Measures 50" from sleeve tip to tip. Length is 24.75" from back of neck and 26.75" including collar, a bit petite in length.
Chest area is 48". Haori jackets do not wrap; are worn open. Hip area across the back is 24". Close to fitting a size 8-10-12.
