Japanese Black Silk Kimono Jacket - Silk Kimono Jacket - Urushi Threads Haori- H128
Vintage kimono jacket hand-stitched by kimono makers in Japan In good condition with patina on the lining. Soft and elegant silk jacket for a dressy occasion. The exterior is black silk jacquard with darker cloud shapes in the weave highlighted with lacquered threads in a process called urushi. These metallic threads are red and gold with a shine to them.
There is a slight smudge on the right upper back (photo 6) but it's more pronounced in the photo. There is also a tiny white dot on the back of the left sleeve (photo 7).
Lined in ivory silk jacquard with floral patterns. The lining has slight spotting and a few areas where the silk threads are disrupted but not torn. They are more worn than ripped.
With care this should not be a problem as there is little stress on this part of the garment when worn. I have price accordingly.
Features the traditional hanging sleeve of a kimono. Measures 52" from sleeve tip to tip. Length is 30" from back of neck and 32" including collar. Chest area is 48". Haori jackets do not wrap; are worn open. Hip area across the back is 23.5". Close to fitting a size 6-8-10, this jacket is smaller than most of my other listings.
