Japanese Kimono Scarf S3143 - Shard Patterned Stencil Dyed Chirimen Silk
Silk scarf with a twist in the weave, making it spongy in texture.   The Japanese love their chirimen silk fabrics, which are less prone to wrinkles.
This was sewn from a vintage kimono panel 
Off white silk which has been stencil dyed with tiny floral and traditional Japanese patterns in lots of colors with purple patches 
Measures 63" x 7" wide, shorter than many scarves here.

  • Kimono scarves are neck scarves sewn from bolts of Japanese kimono fabric, originally intended to be made into a kimono jacket or robe.  The bolts of cloth are narrow, between 12-14", so they are a natural choice for scarf making.
