Japanese Maekake Traditional Apron Indigo Denim Cotton Longer Length YA29
This is an original shopkeeper's apron from Japan and sewn prior to 1975, the year it was sent to my friend in NY.
It advertises a Japanese food company for vinegar and soy sauce with the sales office and headquarters info written below.  It has two different images on opposite sides.
The one side has a baseball motif!

These are wonderful, sturdy, washable cotton aprons that identify the shop where once worn.   The characters are resist dyed, not just printed on the background.    In good condition but has dye transfer from the blue areas to the white in places.    Photos 1-4 are of the one side;  photos 5-7 are the opposite side.
The main color is still very dark indigo.
Width is 18",  length is 25" plus fringe.   Ties extend 32" from the sides.
