Haori I4319- men's reversible kimono jacket hand-stitched by kimono makers in Japan Previously worn but in very good condition.
Silk habitue jacket with 5 formal family crests (kamon) on the center back, sleeves and shoulders.
Exterior is black and reverses to the lined side which is sewn with a bronze colored silk with a brocade scene.
The lining features a fan with a river scene and the water pattern below has various Japanese imagery, all in tan and a blue green color.
Features the traditional hanging sleeve of a kimono. Measures 54" from sleeve tip to tip. Length is 42" from back of neck and 43" including collar. Chest area is 49". Haori jackets do not wrap, are worn open. Hip area across the back is 25".
The exterior (black) appears in excellent condition. On the lined side (bronze) there is a tiny spot on the right front panel, a slight weaving irregularity on the left back sleeve, two tiny spots in the area below the fan shape, and a tiny spot way down near the hem on that same side. All in all, the garment looks very good.
Sometimes women who cannot fit into a traditional woman's haori can wear a man's.
