Vintage Silk Kimono - Vintage Japanese Kimono Robe H832B
Hand stitched by kimono makers in Japan. This is a women's robe and it is fully lined. It's very pretty and drapes well.
The fabric is silk crepe with an Impressionistic floral pattern, perhaps Lily of the Valley. Silver metallic fabric paint provides additional appeal.
The collar band folds in half inward.
This robe shows very little wear. The outside looks great, considering its age. It maybe a little dry to the touch over the decades.
The upper lining is a delicate pale gold silk, which has some light spots. The lower lining is pink crepe silk and it is slightly discolored at the hem from dragging in a few spots.Measures 50" from sleeve tip to tip and 52" from back neck to the hem.
Chest is 45", hip is 45", sleeve length from shoulder seam to wrist is 12.5" and the drop from the shoulder to the bottom edge is 19.5".
Kimono are very long because in Japan they take a horizontal tuck at the waist and wrap the fabric with the obi to keep it in place.Properly wrapped this would fit about a size 14-16 but you could wear it overlapped more loosely.
You can also display this backwards on the wall with a rod and open the bottom in a fan shape to get a full view.
