Haori H638 - vintage silk kimono jacket hand-stitched by kimono makers in Japan Previously worn but exterior and interior are in good condition for its age.
Smooth and soft silk jacket with large patterns printed to look like shibori dyeing. Some patterns are tiny fawn dots and others are diamond or floral shapes.
The lining is a lovely bright red floral silk.
This haori is very special for its pattern and is in fairly good condition without tears. It has some fading from age, more towards the shoulders (photo 9). It has some faint marks on the front right sleeve, front left sleeve (last photo), and the upper back right panel but nothing serious. Right at the center back waist area it has a faded dot about 1/8" in diameter (photo 8).
Features the traditional hanging sleeve of a kimono and these are long. Measures 49" from sleeve tip to tip. Length is 35" from back of neck and 37" including collar. Chest area is 44". Haori jackets do not wrap, are worn open. Hip area across the back is 23.5". Fits near size 6-8-10. This is a slender cut for a taller, straighter figure.
