Haori I2298- Looking for attention? Try this fabulous purple and turquoise silk kimono jacket hand-stitched by kimono makers in Japan Previously worn but exterior and interior are in good condition for its age. I've been holding onto this for quite some time as it's very unique but now it's time to share.
Smooth and soft silk jacket with allover shibori dyeing. Some patterns are large splotches and others are drawn up with thread to form large flowers.
The lining is a soft gold, pink and orange shibori dyed silk. The lining has several stains on the back panel and they don't all show up in the photos.
This haori is very special for it's dyed pattern and is in good condition. It has some fading from age, more towards the shoulders and upper sleeve edges, and the right front sleeve opening (photo 9) has a small hole. There is an L shaped tear about 1" in size inside the bottom left front panel (last photo). The jacket has several tiny pinholes elsewhere.
Features the traditional hanging sleeve of a kimono and these are long. Measures 50" from sleeve tip to tip. Length is 36.5" from back of neck and 38.5" including collar. Chest area is 45". Haori jackets do not wrap, are worn open. Hip area across the back is 24". Fits near size 10-12.
