Haori H363 - shibori dyed silk kimono jacket hand-stitched by kimono makers in Japan Previously worn but exterior and interior are in good condition for its age.
Soft silk jacket with dramatic designs created by shibori dyeing. The scarlet background has a wonderful jacquard weave of large bamboo and wisteria patterns and over that are
shibori dyed geometric and floral patterns in white.
The upper lining is a colorful silk print and also appears inside the sleeves. For its age this garment is in great condition. It does bear a mark on the edge of the back left sleeve (photo 10)
and a dark dot on the gusset of the right side (photo 11). Your arm at rest would cover that. There is a slight darkening to the sleeve edges from age but that's not too noticeable.
Features the traditional hanging sleeve of a kimono. Measures 50" from sleeve tip to tip. Length is 34" from back of neck and 36" including collar. Chest area is 46".
Haori jackets do not wrap, are worn open. Hip area across the back is 24". Fits near size 8-10-12. Haori from this era look especially nice on taller, thinner body types.
