Haori H486 - silk kimono jacket hand-stitched by kimono makers in Japan Previously worn but exterior and interior are in good condition for its age.
Black silk jacket with pastel lacquered metallic threads in the weave, a process called urushi. These threads form floral and leaf patterns on the front, back and sleeves.
The center back has a tiny embroidered fan, which is the family crest, or kamon. This is one I have not seen before. I have re-stitched loose threads on one of the sleeves under the arm, a common point of stress.
The lining is a soft pink silk with jingle bell patterns. Features the traditional hanging sleeve of a kimono. Measures 49" from sleeve tip to tip. Length is 29" from back of neck and 31" including collar. Chest area is 44". Haori jackets do not wrap, are worn open. Hip area across the back is 24". Fits near size 8-10.
