Japanese Silk Kimono Scarf H1813 - Vintage Hand Dyed Silk Obiage Scarf 2 Tone Maroon
This is a traditional scarf called obiage which is worn under a Japanese obi
I found that it makes a fantastic neck scarf!   This one is light weight with lovely shibori dyeing and a distinct geometric jacquard weave.
The edges of obiage are not sewn under, they are merely pinked.
This was sold to me as "unused".
Measures 62" x 11" wide

  • Kimono scarves are neck scarves sewn from bolts of Japanese kimono fabric, originally intended to be made into a kimono jacket or robe.  The bolts of cloth are narrow, between 12-14", so they are a natural choice for scarf making.
