The metal rims are shiny gold tone.    I don't know how to tell the difference between patent leather and vinyl so I will opt for vinyl. Some of the photos look speckled but that is dust from my fabrics that I failed to wipe off! Has pretty gold colored sphere snap closure at top.   The sides are solid colored dark red vinyl.    Inside is gold fabric lining with 1 small pocket and pleated sides.   There is a tiny dot on the inside pocket. Strap is red vinyl Measures  8.25" x 6" x 3.75" with a 4" drop on the strap.
