The metal rims are shiny gold tone.   There are two dark spots on the back rim (photos 5,6) but they are not that bad. I don't know how to tell the difference between patent leather and vinyl so I will opt for vinyl. Some of the photos look speckled but that is dust from my fabrics that I failed to wipe off! Has pretty gold colored sphere snap closure at top.   The sides are solid colored dark red vinyl.    Inside is gold fabric lining with 1 small pocket and pleated sides.   Strap is dark red vinyl Measures 8.25" x 4" x 4.25" with a 5" drop on the strap.
