Vintage Dark Pink Silk Shibori Scarf: Japanese Kimono Obiage H1769 As Is
This is a traditional scarf called obiage which is worn under a Japanese obi
I found that it makes a fantastic neck scarf! This one is light weight in a pretty shade of dark pink.
The middle photos show the complexity of the shibori dye process; this one with fan or shell pattern.
The flatter parts have a kikko or tortiose shell jacquard weave and are very soft.
The center area has two light spots of blue dye but they are so faint that they don't show on photos.
The edges of obiage are not sewn under, they are merely pinked.
Measures 51" x 12" wide (at full width), shorter than many scarves here
