Vintage Hand Dyed Silk Scarf: Japanese Kimono Obiage Delicate Pink Posies H1886
This is a traditional scarf called obiage which is worn under a Japanese obi
I found that it makes a fantastic neck scarf! This one is light weight with lovely color gradation in shades of pink with a feathery jacquard weave on the diagonal. The tiny flowers are tipped with gold and silver metallic fabric paint.
The edges of obiage are not sewn under, they are merely pinked.
I believe this is an unused obiage. It does have a few tiny snags as seen in the last photo.

Kimono scarves are neck scarves sewn from bolts of Japanese kimono fabric, originally intended to be made into a kimono jacket or robe. The bolts of cloth are narrow, between 12-14", so they are a natural choice for scarf making.
