Vintage Hot Pink Silk Shibori Scarf: Japanese Kimono Obiage H1979 This is a traditional scarf called obiage which is worn under a Japanese obi I found that it makes a fantastic neck scarf! This one is light weight with bamboo leaf patterns in the puckered areas. The last photo shows the complexity of the shibori dye process where each raised area has been tied off to resist the dye. The flatter parts have a traditional ancient Buddhist symbol in the jacquard weave. The edges of obiage are not sewn under, they are merely pinked. Measures just 50" x 11.5" wide (at full width), shorter than many scarves here
