Vintage Salmon Pink Blossoms Silk Shibori Scarf: Japanese Kimono Obiage H1778
This is a traditional scarf called obiage which is worn under a Japanese obi
I found that it makes a fantastic neck scarf! This one is medium weight with puckers in most areas and untied edges with a jacquard weave.
The middle photo shows the complexity of the shibori dye process, where each raised area has been tied off to resist the dye.
In addition to the dyeing there are small touches of gold metallic fabric paint inside each flower.
The edges of obiage are not sewn under, they are merely pinked.
Measures just 55" x 8" wide (at narrower width), shorter than many scarves here

Kimono scarves are neck scarves sewn from bolts of Japanese kimono fabric, originally intended to be made into a kimono jacket or robe. The bolts of cloth are narrow, between 12-14", so they are a natural choice for scarf making.
