Vintage Pink Hand Dyed Silk Scarf: Japanese Kimono Obiage H2182
This is a traditional scarf called obiage which is worn under a Japanese obi
I found that it makes a fantastic neck scarf! This one is a summer weight silk with a ribbed texture.
Areas have been hand painted with wonderful, colorful flowers and blue tipped leaves.
I accidentally took some of the photos of the back side of the scarf so it is even prettier than shown.
The edges of obiage are not sewn under, they are merely pinked.

Kimono scarves are neck scarves sewn from bolts of Japanese kimono fabric, originally intended to be made into a kimono jacket or robe. The bolts of cloth are narrow, between 12-14", so they are a natural choice for scarf making.
