Vintage Silk Shibori Scarf - Japanese Kimono Obiage, Bright Orange-Pink H1756
This is a traditional scarf called obiage which is worn under a Japanese obi
I found that it makes a fantastic neck scarf!   This one is light weight with bright orange-pink shibori dyed silk jacquard.   The true color is shown in photo 5, as it was hard to capture.
The middle photos show the complexity of the shibori dye process.
The edges of obiage are not sewn under, they are merely pinked.
Measures 58" x 12" wide (at full width), shorter than many scarves here

  • Kimono scarves are neck scarves sewn from bolts of Japanese kimono fabric, originally intended to be made into a kimono jacket or robe.  The bolts of cloth are narrow, between 12-14", so they are a natural choice for scarf making.
