Vintage Silk Shibori Scarf - Japanese Kimono Obiage, Hand-painted Orange H2284
This is a traditional scarf called obiage which is worn under a Japanese obi
I found that it makes a fantastic neck scarf! This one is light weight with gorgeous grey, pink and gold shibori dyed & hand painted patterns on pale pink jacquard with the ancient Buddhist symbol for peace.
There is one tiny spot in the center where the threads are misaligned a bit from handling.
The middle photos show the complexity of the shibori dye process.
The edges of obiage are not sewn under, they are merely pinked.
Measures 54" x 12" wide (at full width), shorter than many scarves here
