Vintage Silk Shibori Scarf - Japanese Kimono Obiage, Peacock Blue H2166
This is a traditional scarf called obiage which is worn under a Japanese obi
I found that it makes a fantastic neck scarf! This one is light weight with shibori dyed wave patterns on blue-green silk jacquard with a hemp leaf pattern. It was difficult to capture the true color but the first photo is pretty close.
The middle photos show the complexity of the shibori dye process.
The edges of obiage are not sewn under, they are merely pinked.
Measures 52" x 11.5" wide (at full width), a lot shorter than many scarves here
